Our project links in to the priority "Making Coastal Communities more attractive places to live and work" by providing creative opportunities for local people to come together to learn new skills and contribute to community produced woven art works as well as providing paid work for a local artist to run the sessions

The Alloway Railway Tunnel ART is an arts and heritage community project creating a stunning mural within a disused railway tunnel near the Brig O’Doon, Alloway, Ayrshire. At 300m it’s one of the largest murals in Scotland. The project of a guided video tour will benefit local residents, visitors and international tourists who want to find out more information and stories about the mural and Ayrshire history from artist Chris Rutterford as they walk around viewing the mural.

Our 4WD vehicle is vital to our ability to maintain the Ayrshire Coastal Path. The vehicle is used to transport materials such as sleepers, gate posts, stiles, new marker posts to where they are needed on the path. Safe access to this stunning coastal path through continued maintenance benefits the local coastal communities in SA through walking, recreation and nature connection opportunities, as well as being a huge driver for outdoor tourism in the area benefitting many local businesses.

To ensure we continue to evolve the Broadway Cinema Experience and ensure continued success; additional health and safety works, facility upgrades, projection equipment enhancements, and accessibility improvements are necessary to improve public access and enable events and community use. We are asking for capital funding support from the Coastal Communities Fund to enhance our facilities and ensure they remain safe, accessible, and usable for the foreseeable future.

Revamp of the café servicing area to improve customer experience, increase food choice and display space, benefiting residents of Maybole, North Carrick communities, and visitors.

Our aim is to make a lasting difference to the town’s cultural landscape by re-vitalising the entrances to the theatre by not only ensuring the accessibility, safety and environmental aspects by improving the lighting but cementing the theatre being memorable and welcoming to the community, patrons and tourists alike.

Harbour Ayrshire will deliver trauma-informed recovery and wellbeing support across rural coastal communities, reducing isolation, improving mental health, and increasing community participation for vulnerable adults and families.
