This upgrade will enhance Dundonald Castle's Visitor Centre and Community Hub, improving facilities for 30,000+ annual visitors and creating a better environment for our community, team, locals and tourists.Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)
Friends of Dundonald Castle SCIO is working hard to keep our much‑loved Community Hub & Visitor Centre in great condition for everyone who uses it. After completing major improvements to our 30‑year‑old building, including new eco‑friendly heating, lighting and upgraded double glazing, the next essential step is refreshing the inside and outside of the hub.
The paintwork throughout the building is original from 1996 and now badly needs renewed. A fresh, professional repaint will make the hub brighter, more welcoming and better protected for the future. We plan to appoint a trusted local painter and decorator to carry out this work.
We are applying for funding of £2,400 (net of VAT) to complete this much‑needed upgrade. This investment will sit alongside the major improvements already delivered, helping us protect the building for years to come.
The Community Hub & Visitor Centre is used by over 30,000 people each year, from local community groups to visitors from across the UK and beyond. Keeping the building well‑maintained is vital to supporting our team, community and visitors, whilst strengthening our village facilities, and ensuring Dundonald remains a great place to live, work and visit.
