Thriving Places

Thriving Places is a new digital space for community groups and organisations across South Ayrshire to share information about the projects they hope to deliver. It aims to build a lively, collaborative portfolio of community ideas that strengthens joint working, connects groups to funding opportunities, and helps make South Ayrshire an even better place to live, work, learn and visit.

At its heart, Thriving Places is about understanding what community organisations need in order for local people and places to truly thrive. By hearing about the projects, ideas, and challenges that matter most to you, we can build a clearer picture of the support required across our communities. Although this isn’t a funding application and there may not always be funding available, sharing your proposals helps shape future priorities, guide funding criteria, strengthen our case for resources, and ensure that community voices influence decisions from the very beginning.

We hope Thriving Places will help community groups and organisations to:

1. Link to local Place Plans or Community Led Actions Plans.

2. Raise awareness about their group and its aspirations by sharing their project proposals.

3. Build connections with other like-minded groups across South Ayrshire who have a shared vision.

4. Find out about external funding opportunities that the council can connect them with.

We hope Thriving Places will help the Council to:

1. Become more aware of the range of community projects interested in being connected with funding opportunities.

2. Plan future support for community groups and organisations.

3. Inform our plans and strategies.

4. Guide funders on priorities and gaps specific to South Ayrshire.
