Friends of Craigie Allotments Association – maintaining the allotments

Joy Hill No comments Coastal Communities Fund 2025/2026

Investment project code: 244

Estimated Cost

£870

In relation to the identified priorities in the Guidance & Essential criteria what will your idea achieve and who will benefit from your project?

We aim to provide a space for people in community to improve their health and wellbeing through ethical gardening. Objectives - • To conserve, preserve, protect and improve the land worked on. • To encourage all plot holders to take an active part in the maintenance and improvement of the allotment site. To promote the benefits of community growing and gardening to the inhabitants of Ayr and surrounding area without distinction

Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)

We are looking for financial support to cover our day-to-day expenses such as bank charges, insurance, materials to make posters to keep plot holders up to date with what’s going on, gardening materials such as compost and bark which we use around the plots, materials to repair the community shed and materials to repair the fencing behind the community shed. This would assist the association to continue to make improvements to the allotments for the benefit of all plot holders.
