To purchase a marquee, stage and event equipment to support safer, better community events in Tarbolton, benefiting residents, volunteers, local groups, businesses and visitors.Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)
TCDT plans to purchase a reusable community events package for the three villages of Tarbolton, Annbank, and Mossblown, including a large marquee, a high portable stage, and the essential supporting equipment needed to use them safely at outdoor events. This will include items such as anchoring/ballast, storm straps, cable covers, storage bags, lighting, and safety equipment.
The funding will be used to buy capital equipment that can support events and activities across the three villages, including Gala Day, Christmas activities, community markets, consultation events, youth activities, performances, fundraising events and partnership activities with local groups. At present, community events often rely on hired or borrowed equipment, which increases costs, limits flexibility and makes it harder for smaller village groups to deliver ambitious events.
Owning this equipment will create a shared community asset that can be used across Tarbolton, Annbank and Mossblown, helping bring local organisations together and making it easier to run high-quality events in each village. It will reduce repeated hire costs, improve event safety and accessibility, and provide weather-resilient infrastructure for volunteers, residents, families, community groups, local businesses, performers and visitors.
