Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a way for people to have a say in how local money is spent.

For the year 2025/2026 SAC has committed £70,000 for PB.  This is available to local community organisations for capital only projects, split between the following localities based on population:

Ayr North - £13,930

Ayr South & Villages - £22,260

Prestwick, Troon & Villages - £20,755

North & South Carrick - £13,055

APPLICTION DEADLINE BEEN EXTENDED TO THURSDAY 12TH JUNE 2025 AT 5PM!

Applications are now open for the Participatory Budgeting Fund 25-26.

Please ensure that you have read and understood the guidance and application criteria on the information page before applying.  

To begin your application, click the 'Download the application form here' button at the bottom of this page and begin your application. This is a word document.

Once you have completed your application please go to th 'Create a Funding Application' tab at the top right of this page and complete the following fields:

Heading - select the locality your project is based in or will be delivered in

Title - Group Name

Project Summary - Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (capital only - payments specifically made for acquiring, maintaining or upgrading fixed assets, purchase of equipment andor group/project resources. Cannot include payment for any services or salaries)

Description - In relation to the identified priorities in the Guidance & Essential criteria what will your idea achieve and who will benefit from your project? 

Estimated cost - amount you are applying for

Project Picture - if you have a picture of your organisation/group (this is optional)

Documents - upload your completed application only here. Please save as a PDF before uploading. 

Then check agree box for Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions of use and submit application.

The closing date is now Thursday 12th June 2025 at 5pm

Applications have now closed, and are now being reviewed ahead of the public vote opening.

All applications will be reviewed by members from the CLD partnership to ensure they fit within the qualifying criteria. 

We may contact you during this period to confirm information or ask for additional information, so please keep checking your inbox (and junk/spam folders) just in case. 

All applicants will be notified via email once the status of their application has been confirmed.

How to vote: Locality

  • Select the locality that you live in below. You will only be able to vote in one area, so make sure you click on the right one!
  • Each locality has a funding pot allocated based on population. Your vote will determine how this funding is distributed between the projects in your area.
  • Review all of the projects in your area to decide which FIVE you would most like to see funded.
  • To cast your vote, select your favourite five projects from the list in your locality and click 'Submit Ballot'.
