Troon Men's Shed are working on a Community Asset Transfer to acquire the former Hosiery Park Pavilion and to develop it as a Men's Shed to provide a meeting and activity space for men in Troon.

New kayaking equipment and pontoon ladder will allow us to safely expand boating activities for more of our cadets, supporting youth development for years to come and community engagement.

This is a community-led project to create and then manage a stunning artwork in a disused railway tunnel on an active-travel path at Alloway. To date we have involved over 2,000 local people mainly from schools and colleges but also involving the older generation to create the artwork under the guidance of a professional muralist. We believe involving so many of our local communities will provide a sense of ownership and help safeguard the artwork created.

Our playground projects will benefit all of our pupils and the wider community with socialising and health and well being to enhance our school which is the heart of the community. This would also be a great piece of equipment for our SEN pupils.

Adult & Family Learning: Practical skills-building that enhances confidence, resilience and wellbeing. Youth Work: Young carers gain life saving capabilities and positive peer learning. Community Development: Strengthens local networks, fosters inter agency collaboration and mutual support.

The funding received will directly support the creation of a pop-up museum within the Broadway’s foyer, to preserve the collective memories of cinema-going in South Ayrshire and become the first indoor museum experience in Prestwick in living memory.

Community Gift Exchange SCIO proposes to refurbish and distribute 10 bikes to adults living in the area who would like to enjoy the health and wellbeing, and cost saving benefits of riding a bike but, impacted by the cost of living crisis, are not able to afford to buy a safe and affordable bike themselves. Producing the bikes in our Ayr based Cycle Works also provides additional training and inclusion volunteering opportunities for young people, people with disabilities, and retired people.
