Bikes being refurbished at CGX Cycle Works by local staff and volunteers

Refurbished Bikes for New Riders

No comments Community Gift Exchange SCIO organisation Ayr North

Community Gift Exchange SCIO proposes to refurbish and distribute 10 bikes to adults living in the area who would like to enjoy the health and wellbeing, and cost saving benefits of riding a bike but, impacted by the cost of living crisis, are not able to afford to buy a safe and affordable bike themselves. Producing the bikes in our Ayr based Cycle Works also provides additional training and inclusion volunteering opportunities for young people, people with disabilities, and retired people.

Kirkmichael Community Shop and Cafe EPOS installation

No comments Caroline Lorimer North & South Carrick

Kirkmichael Community Shop and Cafe provides a vital service for our rural village. Our idea is to install an Electronic Point of Sale System (EPOSS) in the community shop and cafe which will assist with community development of this village asset and improve our community space and facility for the residents in Kirkmichael. The beneficiaries will be both our community members and visitors to the village. This system will enhance the working environment for our staff and volunteers.

The IT equipment would benefit the hall in terms of increasing lets as within the facility we could accommodate learning seminars and business meetings by offering a hybrid approach and also access to online learning which would enhance the development our our community hall. Also having a new notice board would allow the community to clearly display any activities and events that is happening within the local area and hopefully encourage participation.
