Friends of the Broadway Prestwick will deliver a programme of improvements to The Broadway Cinema, a prominent community-owned heritage building in Prestwick town centre. Building on previous Coastal Communities Fund support, the project will improve the building's appearance, visibility, and readiness for increased community use.
Funding will support:
- Removal of entrance boarding;
- Repair of the original Art Deco entrance doors;
- Frontage cleaning, repairs and decoration;
- Canopy repairs;
- Building signage and branding;
- Architectural lighting;
- CCTV improvements;
- Door security and access management improvements;
- Interior security blinds and building information signage;
- Volunteer and staff branded apparel; and
- Accredited Emergency First Aid training.
These improvements will remove visible signs of vacancy, enhance a key town-centre landmark, improve visitor appeal and support increased community activity within the building. The project directly supports priorities identified through Prestwick place planning by improving a historic building, enhancing the public realm, and demonstrating successful community-led regeneration.
