Full Project Details & Description
Troon Schools Out is a local after-school and holiday childcare club based at the Scout Hall in Troon, and Barassie Primary School, South Ayrshire. We provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for primary school-aged children from Nursery to Primary 7, helping families access reliable childcare throughout the year.
Our club provides essential childcare outside normal school hours and during school holidays. This provision supports working parents and carers, families balancing employment and childcare responsibilities, and children who benefit from opportunities to socialise, play, learn and take part in a variety of activities within their local community.
Troon Schools Out also plays an important role in supporting the wider community. Access to dependable, affordable childcare can make a significant difference to parents and carers, enabling them to work, attend training, maintain employment and manage family commitments with greater confidence. By providing childcare locally, we help families remain connected to their community and reduce some of the pressures associated with arranging childcare around school hours and holidays.
Like many community-based childcare providers, Troon Schools Out is experiencing increasing running costs, placing significant pressure on our available funds and the long-term sustainability of our service.
We are seeking grant funding to help meet essential ongoing operating costs and ensure that our club can continue to provide a safe, reliable and enriching childcare service for local families. Rising costs make it increasingly difficult to cover the day-to-day expenses involved in running the club while keeping our provision accessible and affordable.
