The project will refurbish, extend, and enhance the McKechnie Institute in Girvan to create a fully accessible, energy-efficient cultural hub in the town. Works include conservation repairs to the historic building, upgraded exhibition and event spaces, improved interpretation and displays, accessibility improvements, low-carbon heating and insulation, and redevelopment of the outdoor garden space. Funding will be used to deliver the extension, core construction works, accessibility upgrades, and new exhibition and interpretation elements, ensuring the building's long-term sustainability and increased community use.
