In relation to the identified priorities in the Guidance & Essential criteria what will your idea achieve and who will benefit from your project?

Free Family Beach Handball Festival in Summer 2026 offering inclusive, free sport for ages 3–26, targeting low-income families and key groups, with pathways into Troon Handball Club.

Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)

We will deliver a free Family Beach Handball Festival in Summer 2026 at Troon Beach, offering inclusive sessions for children, young people and families aged 3–26. The event will include beginner and family-friendly activities as well as organised games for more experienced players, creating a welcoming environment for all abilities.

Funding will be used to purchase beach handball equipment (goals, balls, cones, bibs and markings), promotional materials (banners, signage and flyers), and to support coaching delivery and sessional staff costs. It will also cover resources to help create an engaging event atmosphere, including basic event infrastructure and music provision.

The project will provide a free opportunity for local families to take part in sport, reduce barriers such as cost and access, and encourage sustained participation through clear pathways into Troon Handball Club. It will also support school engagement, increased female participation through linked training sessions, and the development of coaches and volunteers to strengthen long-term community provision.

Location: Troon and the surrounding to include Dundonald, Symington, Barassie and surrounding Ayrshire
