Harbour Ayrshire plans to deliver targeted progression support for up to 10 individuals from Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Maybole, Girvan and South Carrick who are preparing to enter Stage 5 of our Bridge to Shore recovery and employability pathway. All participants will have achieved a minimum of six months sobriety and will be working towards positive outcomes including education, training, volunteering and employment.
Funding will be used to provide trauma-informed therapy, driving lessons, interview clothing, wellbeing resources and practical employability support to help remove barriers that prevent individuals progressing in recovery. Funding will also support a therapeutic wellbeing retreat, giving participants the opportunity to step away from everyday pressures within a relaxed and supportive environment that enhances wellbeing, confidence and peer connections.
The project aims to improve mental health, reduce social isolation, increase independence and strengthen pathways into education and employment for vulnerable people living within South Ayrshire coastal communities.
