This project will be delivered to residents of Maybole and surrounding villages. We have a lot of
members from surrounding villages who no longer have a bowling club to join in their village. The
premises is used on a regular basis by bowlers and non-bowlers alike. We also provide free
coaching for young people every Wednesday which has proved very popular. : I believe that this project links into Priority 6 of the Maybole Action Plan. (Improve
Leisure and Sports Facilities)
Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)
Over the years parts of the building has fallen into a state of disrepair, this has been highlighted by members of the club and members of various community groups.
We would like to apply for funding to upgrade the clubhouse and make the facilities more attractive for members of the club and the wider community. Essentially we are starting to think about future proofing the club so that it can continue to exist well into the future. Funding is needed to repair the roof and replace windows and also to replace the front door. By replacing the windows, it will help assist us with reducing our heating bill.
Location: This proposal affects the town of Maybole and surrounding villages.
Proposed on behalf of: Maybole Memorial Park Bowling club celebrates its centenary year this year and has been a permanent fixture in the town, The club attracts members from Maybole and surrounding villages and is well used by community groups and members of the public.
