In relation to the identified priorities in the Guidance & Essential criteria what will your idea achieve and who will benefit from your project?

Supports Financial Inclusion by funding packaging for Maybole Food Pantry, helping distribute surplus food safely to local families, reduce waste, and ease food insecurity in our community.

Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)

We plan to use the funding to support the Maybole Food Pantry by purchasing essential distribution materials, including vacuum packaging, kraft paper bags, and labels. These resources will allow us to safely and effectively package a variety of surplus and donated food items, helping us maintain hygiene standards and improve the overall presentation and durability of the food parcels we provide. The funding will ensure that we can continue to meet the growing demand for food support in the local area, reduce food waste, and deliver a dignified and reliable service to individuals and families facing food insecurity due to the rising cost of living.

Location: This proposal directly affects the town of Maybole and the surrounding villages in North Carrick. The Maybole Food Pantry operates from The Carrick Centre on Culzean Road, which is a central, accessible location for the local community.
