Funding is required for an underwater inspection and report of any necessary work which may be required to ensure the safe anchoring of our pontoons in the river Ayr. A routine three yearly inspection is due for all chains, concrete blocks and anchors situated in the river Ayr. The inspection report will highlight any defects and necessary work to be carried out to ensure the pontoons will stay in position during all types of river flows. Eg. Seasonal river spates or impact of debris coming down the river. AYCC pontoons are situated upstream of the main harbour which is owned by Associated British Ports (ABP) we must ensure all precautions are taken to keep our pontoons in their position, in a safe and secure state. Our landlords ABP own the harbour it is a busy commercial harbour and all precautions must be taken to ensure no disruption to commercial traffic is caused.
