In relation to the identified priorities in the Guidance & Essential criteria what will your idea achieve and who will benefit from your project?

Bridge to Shore helps our beneficiaries who are recovering from addiction gain support from mentors, and move into volunteering, education and work—breaking debt cycles, reducing child poverty, preventing crisis, and building skills.

Please describe what you plan to do and what the money will be used for? (i.e., purchase equipment/resources)

Your funding will help to support our beneficiaries who are recovering from addiction which is interlinked with poverty and who after achieving 6 months sobriety and completion of the 12 step process can move onto become volunteers creating a pathway for everyone towards positive destinations, which include education, employment and training.  Bridge to shore will invest in their development providing bus passes to access support, training and interviews, driving lessons and preparation for interview giving them the support the need to help rebuild their lives, improve aspirations, break the cycle of dept and dependency and reduce child poverty by improving their's and their families financial circumstances.  The growing awareness which Harbour offers and the growing rate of referalls, and working at the core of the community evidences that we reduce crisis through early intervention.
